Shiver Risk: Mild fatigue or tingling

Description: Basic spells with minimal cost and risk. Examples: Vine Whip (Elvenrise), Soil Mend (Branby), Shadow Flicker (Devilwick).

Grade D: Adept Echo

Mana Cost: 3-5 units

Shiver Risk: Fatigue or hand tremors

Description: Intermediate spells with noticeable effects. Examples: Steel Ward (Swallowreach), Knowledge Echo (Inkcourt), Dust Veil (Branby).

Grade C: Master’s Chant

Mana Cost: 6-10 units

Shiver Risk: Severe fatigue, mild madness

Description: Advanced spells requiring precision. Examples: Divine Smite (Mysthall), Forge Pulse (Ironhall), Dragonfire Pulse (Ashen Pass).

Grade B: Resonance Mastery

Mana Cost: 11-20 units

Shiver Risk: Burnout or moderate madness (non-Blessed); mild exhaustion (Blessed)

Description: Potent spells for skilled mages. Examples: Grand Ward (Azurekeep), Taint Surge (Devilwick).

Grade A: Eternal Invocation

Mana Cost: 21-30 units (survivable)

Shiver Risk: Severe burnout or intense madness (non-Blessed); moderate exhaustion (Blessed)

Description: Legendary battlefield-altering spells. Examples: Spirit Ascension (Astralis Grove), Wound Breach (Devilwick), Imperial Dominion (Swallowreach).

Grade S: Blessed Nexus

Mana Cost: 15-25 units

Shiver Risk: Mild to moderate exhaustion (Blessed only); madness or death (non-Blessed)

Description: Rare spells for the Blessed (1 in 100,000). Examples: Dread Pulse (Devilwick), Celestial Grace (Astralis Grove), Sovereign Might (Swallowreach).

Grade EX: Singular Nexus

Mana Cost: Varies (10-40% of caster’s pool)

Shiver Risk: Mild fatigue (0-20%), moderate exhaustion (21-40%), severe burnout (41-60%), madness (61-80%), death (81%+); Blessed halve severity

Description: Unique, personalized magic. Examples: Radiant Flux (Astralis Grove), Spiritdance Flow (Astralis Grove), Gifted Eruption (Astralis Grove).

Mechanics

Mana Pool: 10-20 units (average), 50+ (Blessed), 70+ (EX potential). Replenished by rest or spirits.

The Shiver: Overdrawing risks physical or mental strain.

Variations: Spells adapt to regional environments.

Corruption: Tainted Mana boosts effects, increases risk.
